Hello Everyone,

My name is Ryan McKeon and I am from Rochester, NY. I have been part of a few projects professionally, but I have most recently taken a course on project management while attending SNHU. Mitigation of risks is an important part of project development, regardless of the medium in which we are working. Project scope is the most notorious one to fall to scope creep in which the project evolves into something more than what was originally planned, either by the project team or by the customer themselves.

This course is to help identify risks and learning how to properly mitigate them. It will help achieve timely completion execution and within budget. This will be useful for myself personally as I become part of future project teams. Professionally in the future, it will provide me a window into the futures of project management within IT specifically.

The resources I will use to be successful within the course is the provided reading material. I will also be referencing articles on the internet quite often to better cement my understanding of the topics. This will allow me to make accurate and informed decisions that are relevant to not only the class, but current best practices as well. The instructor and classmates will help reinforce that with their weekly discussion inputs and discoveries that I may follow-up and read the sources on to better understand their point of view.less

Hello Class,

I am from Berne, Indiana, a small city surrounded by fields and forests. There is where I met my wife, whom has been married to me since December 2020. I joined the Army in December of 2016 and served as a public health representative until this year. I am currently in the process of moving to the Republic of Korea (South Korea) with my wife. There I will be fulfilling the role of an Information Technology Noncommissioned Officer (NCO). In my professional experiences I have received multiple classes on the importance of understanding and properly implementing risk assessments to aid in mitigating the probability of risk occurring.

The course outcomes are applicable to both my personal and professional life as they will enhance my understanding and ability to implement risk assessment and risk management into my decision making processes. Through identifying legal and ethical considerations for an IT environmental, developing plans to identify and manage risk, and to be able to adapt those plans to incorporate IT best practices.

I will be utilizing peer/instructor discussion posts and replies to broaden my understanding of risk assessment/mitigation as it pertains to the IT environment. Furthermore, I will be accessing internet articles, assigned reading, and other resources to hone my discussions, activates, and projects.
