Merchandising, Image, and Performance paper

I’m working on a Business question and need guidance to help me study.

Managers must have a solid understanding of their industry’s best merchandising practices and be able to apply those practices in their businesses. Although managers at individual locations may not have responsibility for many merchandising functions, they must have the ability to translate and implement merchandising initiatives in order to drive performance and organizational success.


  1. Conduct external and internal research on the relationships among merchandising, image, and organizational success. Use your business or organization as the basis for answering the following questions.
  2. Based on your research, the course content, and the merchandising practices in your company:
    1. Explain how the process of executing good merchandising techniques reinforces brand image and improves sales performance. Address the following merchandising elements in your explanation:
      1. Product or service imagery
      2. Brand consistency
      3. Customer expectations regarding merchandising appearance
    2. Select the best choice for influencing product sales from the following two alternatives. Support your choice with examples and relevant research.
      1. Product visuals (photographs) of available offerings
      2. Product name strips describing available offerings
    3. Assess display signage and product flow in your business to explain how they work together to make it easy for customers to select and purchase offerings.
    4. Form conclusions about the effectiveness of showcasing product variety and offering items at different price points to positively influence the customer experience and sales performance.
    5. Evaluate the visual signage and its presentation in your business or organization. What messages are customers getting from the visual presentation? How is the messaging aligned with the desired image of your organization?
    6. What specific merchandise techniques are being used in your business? Explain if the techniques are being used effectively or ineffectively.
    7. In what ways is advertising signage in the business helpful to customers?
    8. Make and defend two recommendations for changes in design, display, or merchandising practices that would increase organizational sales and/or performance.
  3. Write a four-page paper (minimum) that thoroughly addresses all of the areas included under Instruction #2. Cite a minimum of two outside sources used in your research. You must give appropriate credit to the sources of the material, both external and internal.

Format Instructions: For this assignment your paper must be double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, with 1” margins on all sides. It must consist of a title page, abstract, body of the paper, and a reference page. A running header and page numbers must be included per APA style guidelines. Level I and Level II headings must be used in the body of the paper. Since outside sources are required on this assignment, APA style in-text citations must be included in the body of the paper.
