Part 2

The next step in the training process is to design the training.

When designing the training program for your organization, consider the following questions:

  • Why is the training needed?
  • How does the training support the organization’s strategic plan (mission, vision, goals)?
  • Who will be trained?
  • What are the training objectives?
  • What instructional methods or strategies will be used?

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:

  • Revise Assignment 2 based on your professor’s feedback. (Revision is not included in the required page count.)
  • Develop three to four (3-4) complete (all three [3] levels) training objectives for the organizational training program, providing a rationale for each.
  • Apply 1-5 of Gagné-Briggs Nine Events of Instruction to the design of your training program, providing an example of how you would approach each of the first five (5) events.
  • Apply 6-9 of Gagné-Briggs Nine Events of Instruction to the design of your training program, providing an example of how you would approach each of the last four (4) events.
  • Include at least two (2) relevant peer-reviewed references (no more than five [5] years old from material outside the textbook.

Part 3

Based on your Needs Assessment from Week 6, discuss the delivery method(s) that you feel are the most appropriate for your organization/institution and how you will use technology to improve your training process. Include examples of record keeping, delivery modality, assessments, flexibility for learners, and mentoring.

Part 4

A training program that you designed to improve communication from the Boardroom to the Mailroom for your organization/institution has been in place for the past three months. You have noticed that there are still issues in open communication across multiple departments or lines of business. Your CFO (Chief Financial Officer) is now concerned that the ROI (Return on Investment) for your program is not delivering to the bottom line. What steps do you need to take to a) evaluate the program, b) determine if any delivery methods or learning models need to be adjusted, and c) improve the ROI?

Part 5

The next steps in the training process are to develop and plan the implementation of the training.

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:

  1. Revise Assignment 3 based on your professor’s feedback. (Revision is not included in the required page count.)
  2. Examine the instructional methods and learning objectives and determine how your training program should be developed. Explain the rationale for your decision.
  3. Outline the resources (personnel, equipment, materials, travel, and budget) required for designing, developing, and implementing your training program.
  4. Develop a complete instructional strategy for your training program
  5. Develop a one (1) page job aid that supports the training program. Base this job aid or handout on one (1) of the learning objectives you developed in Assignment 3: Training Design.
  6. Include at least five (5) peer-reviewed references (published within the last five [5] years) from material outside the textbook.
