o Works cited page with at least 8 peer reviewed sources

o Times New Roman, size 12, double spaced, 1 inch margins
o Proper grammar and correct spelling
o Background and Epidemiology; Risk Factors from a Course Perspective; Prevention approaches; Policy and Program Assessment and Recommendations
Content discussed will be relative to the course content as discussed in lecture and in readings, including, but not limited to, the following:
o Health issue basic definitions, descriptions and categorizations
o Why specific health issue and life stage were selected
o e.g., incidence, mortality, healthcare costs, rates among different demographic groups, trends over time, location
o Risk and protective factors
o Frame factors according to the ecological (biopsychoenvironmental) model, and other relevant models
o Interrelationship(s) of determinants (reciprocal influences, triangulation, compounding, etc.) and dynamic nature thereof
o population level: Law/policy, environmental changes, screening guidelines, official government/agency recommendations, media campaigns
o individual level: educational, home based, health care provider based
o population level: Law/policy, environmental changes, screening guidelines, official government/agency recommendations, media campaigns
o individual level: educational, home based, health care provider based
o Based on what is known and discussed in both papers, about the health issue, risk factors, effective interventions, etc.:
what programs, policies or other recommendations should be changed or implemented for your target population/age group (that are not already in place)?
What more should be done?
What additional research is needed to be able to reduce the burden of disease in your target population?
What are the knowledge gaps that, if filled, could lead to more effective interventions?
o Each paper should thoroughly address with attention to the life-course perspective from a public health vantage:
“What is the problem? How do we measure it? How big is it? Why is it relevant?”
“What is being done about this problem? What is our goal? How can we reach our goal?”
