Six Steps in Program Evaluation

The CDC’s Framework for Program Evaluation, as well as the framework presented in Chapter 13 of the McKenzie et al. textbook, includes six steps for performing a program evaluation: engage stakeholders, describe the program, focus the evaluation design, gather credible evidence, justify conclusions, and ensure use and shared lessons learned. In this Competency Assessment, you will explain how your program evaluation plan meets these six steps within the public health program that you developed in the PP4001–PP4005 competencies. To begin, download the Assessment Template document, and then identify the public health program that you will evaluate. For each of the six steps, provide a 2- to 3-paragraph explanation of how your evaluation plan meets the step. Your completed Assessment Template is the only submission for this Competency Assessment.

Note: If you are not able to access the public health program that you developed for any reason, contact your faculty assessor immediately.
