My worldview is based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ, my Lord, and Savior. I believe that Jesus was born in a manger and died on the cross for our sins and that he rose to give us a chance in life to live it abundantly and also in the afterlife with God forever. My worldview is also based upon my upbringing of being a devout Christian and servant for the Lord. Proverbs 3: 5-6 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” I believe that God has placed us all here for a specific reason that is to honor and worship him and also delight him. He made us in his image so we are all good creations. Reading your Bible, focusing on God, and listening to Him through prayer and meditating gives more insight as to where your worldview with God will reveal to you.

My worldview has been influenced over the years by my parents, instructional training from my teachers, close friends, classmates, co-workers, and church leaders. These influences have been both good and bad. However, the greatest influence of my worldview has been guided by the Word of God, expressed in the Bible. For the last thirty years, I have conscientiously worked to live out the Word of God in my daily walk of life. What does the word of God say about the matter? Mark 12:30-31 (NIV) says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” The second one is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” These scriptures are the very foundation of my worldview.

“Why are we here?” I truly believe that we are here to serve one another according to our God given assignments. Amongst Biblical text, accounts of various men and women doing good works according to God’s will are mentioned, whether it was through teaching, carpentry, farming and serving to say the least. The gist of all of these experiences was that there were Biblical encounters that turned what was once bad into good by the belief in the finished works of God. So, in summary, I believe that our mission on earth is to display the attributes of God so that effortless conversion of what has been oppressed by spiritual wickedness can be transformed into holiness. Another question asked is, “Is there a God?” From my own personal experiences and through my avid practices of faith, I strongly believe that there is a God. Many people cannot accept the mysteries of the intangible essence of Him. So, to believe there is a God can only be answered through beliefs of faith in the intangible and manifesting what we hold to be true through personal encounters and experiences.

Why are we here? We exist because God, in His infinite wisdom, created us to give Him glory and enjoy Him forever. We did not randomly evolve from molecules and cells that suddenly appeared out of nothing and organized themselves. The breadth and depth of order in all things demonstrates there is an intentional designer. God desires that we love and worship Him while using the abilities and resources He gives us to bless, love and serve other people.

Is there a difference between right and wrong? Yes, there is a difference between right and wrong. A Christian worldview, informed primarily by Scripture, is my basis for distinguishing between right and wrong. If God’s Word states that something is wrong, then it is wrong. However, it can be difficult to determine right from wrong because our hearts are deceitful and many situations in our modern context are not specifically addressed in scripture. I typically use the principles of Scripture to resolve those situations not specifically addressed.
