Work through the following genetics problems and submit their answers in the Unit 4 lab drop box.
1. Both a man and a woman are heterozygous for freckles. Freckles are dominant over no freckles. What is the chance that their child will have freckles?
2. Both a brother and a sister have attached earlobes, but their parents have unattached earlobes. Unattached earlobes (E) are dominant over attached earlobes (e). What are the genotypes of the parents?
3. A father has dimples, the mother does not have dimples, and all five of their children have dimples. Dimples (D) are dominant over no dimples (d). Give the probable genotypes of all persons concerned.
4. A woman is heterozygous for polydactyly (which is a dominant condition in which a person has more than the normal number of fingers and/or toes). The woman has a child with a man who is homozygous normal. What is the chance that their child will have more than ten fingers and/or toes?
