I need support with this Management question so I can learn better.
This exercise draws upon a validated and popular theory of personality called “The Big Five” and it will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Follow these steps to complete the assessment:
Connect to the Internet, and go to the following website.
http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/j/5/j5j/IPIP/ (Links to an external site.)
(NOTE: in order to minimize the possibility of an interruption, this part is easier to complete if you use a high-speed Internet connection.)
- This website offers an instrument designed to measure your personality according to the Big Five personality dimensions. You may use either the short form or the long form. Complete the questions as directed.
- The instrument asks you to answer a series of questions about yourself. It is important to answer these questions as truthfully as you can, or the results will not be very useful. Remember, the results will be held in confidence.
- After you have answered all of the questions, the website will provide you with a “report”, a written qualitative assessment of your scores on the various personality dimensions measured by the instrument. Save and/or print the report.
Look over your summary and answer the following questions…
- Briefly indicate where you fell on each of the Big 5 Dimensions (e.g., Agreeableness, Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Emotional Stability, and Conscientiousness).
- Based on your profile, and the video lectures, what jobs would you be best suited for? What types of jobs would be a poor “fit” based on your profile?
- Based on your scores (and the Just Make a Decision Article you should have read), are you likely to be decisive or not? Why?
- Did any aspects of your profile surprise you?
