As noted by Paul & Elder: “Dealing with egocentrism and sociocentrism is no easy matter Because both function subconsciously, it is difficult to identify them And although no one will object to our being less selfish (personally), if we significantly and publicly dissent from group beliefs, we face an array of informal — if not formal — penalties” (p 260)
Can you think of an example of an individual who has challenged these sociocentric norms – and the challenges they faced? (It can be animaginary person)
