Another theater assignment

I don’t understand this Economics question and need help to study.

Your final project is a proposal for a new, hypothetical Applied Theatre program that you will pitch to the class on via Zoom, prerecorded video, or essay. The rubric is here and in modules. For those of you submitting a video recording or presenting your proposal live over Zoom, you will need an accompanying visual. Here is an example of a visual layout that addresses all the areas required in the rubric. It is also available in modules.

Your case study research has led you to investigate one or more of these seven models:

  • Theatre of the Oppressed, Theatre in Education, Theatre in Health Education, Community-Based Theatre, Theatre for Development, Prison Theatre, Reminiscence Theatre

Your five-minute presentation should:

  • Be specific: your audience should be able to visualize your program, communicated via:
    • A mission statement that expresses your values, targets an audience, and signals change.
    • Specific activities that give your audience a sense of the work you will engage.
    • Clear indication as to how your program will be evaluated. How will we know it worked?
  • Correlate the case studies you’ve summarized with your proposal. What did you learn from them?
  • Be justified: your audience will not/should not take your word for it. Supply proof of concept. What quantitative or qualitative evidence can you point to which can give your work salience?
  • Be passionately delivered. Engage your audience by showing enthusiasm for your idea.
  • Be visually appealing and logically organized. Your audience should be able to visualize your process and proposal even if you are not present.
  • Be specifically located. Where will your project occur and why is that an appropriate choice? With whom are you collaborating? Why?

  • Essay alternative must be at least 700 words.
    • The essay does not require visual rhetoric components.
  • A prerecorded alternative must be at least 5 minutes, and no more than 10 minutes.
    • The recording must include visual rhetoric components. This can either be included in the presentation or submitted separately.
